5V crimp is the classic Florida metal roof, a 26 gauge panel with five V shaped ribs, fastened through the panel with gasketed screws in a pattern set by the wind zone, at about half the cost of standing seam.
It is the roof on cracker houses, porches, barns and half of Old Florida, and it is a good roof when it is installed right. The gasketed screws are the weak point. They back out and the gaskets dry out over 10 to 15 years, so a 5V roof needs a fastener check every few years. We tell you that before you buy it.
Stone coated metal is a steel panel pressed into a tile, shake or shingle profile and finished with stone granules, giving the look of a tile roof at a third of the weight and with a 50 year warranty behind it.

Aluminum near the salt, Galvalume inland, 24 gauge on standing seam wherever the budget allows. A Galvalume roof on a bayfront house starts rusting at the cut edges within five years, and no finish warranty covers it, because the manufacturer excludes salt exposure.
High temperature self adhered underlayment only. Metal panels reach 160 degrees in August, and a standard ice and water product softens, slides and sticks to the back of the panel. The underlayment is what keeps the house dry if a panel ever lifts.
